Hayes: Trump’s redistricting push is shrinking the House playing field

The U.S., the masses, have never had fair election laws between the parties, between the classes, or between races. We need one person, one vote. Regardless how long we have accepted an unfair election system, most not aware of the situation, we should never accept anything less than really fair. Not 90% fair, 100% or as close as possible to 100%. In addition, we need to demand immigrants be completely processed w/in 2-5yrs. I believe congress has not passed a new immigration bill bc they and their donors don’t want anymore M&L class/small business voters. Wealthy republicans on Fox News have commented that the U.S. was better before women and ppl of color could vote. Denying some immigrants the right to vote is just another way the gop is decreasing votes like voter ID. It’s harder for the ppl to maintain a democracy if significant numbers of ppl can’t vote. If they live here long-term and aren’t an agent of a foreign government, they should be allowed to vote at some point t or deported. We should demand any requirements aside from registering to vote, and voting should be paid for by tax dollars and any burden like transportation to DMV should be provided or paid for by the state government. By making taxpayers fund the requirements one party wants to reduce the votes of the opposing party, it prevents a toll cost and makes voters think twice before they add a never ending list of additional requirements when there is no proof of widespread voter fraud. Likewise, when the burden to pay for taxi for those who request it or s being a government employee to the home of any voter unable to go to DMV, it makes the legislature take on the burden so voters aren’t disenfranchised. We really should require the legislature to show evidence of new and recent election laws which restrict voting. We are allowing the wealthy and corporations/republicans to disenfranchise the left to further advantage the right and this is wrong. The power of the left has been reduced by a thousands cuts. Everything they can think of. The left is being disenfranchised and all of these unnecessary laws, throwing votes out, denying some voters, etc make a difference. If they didn’t have an impact and reduce the Dem votes, the gop wouldn’t be passing these laws. Over many generations , all this disenfranchisement of the left has a huge impact and keeps control of government and policy more toward the right which results in a government that’s not very representative of the population.
