Oscar incoming for richard
One of the best dramas I’ve watched in years!!! So good
Finished this series yesterday. I have a pretty high tolerance for darkness and heaviness in TV and film, but I could only bear to watch about one episode of this a week (and ALWAYS during the day; definitely not a bedtime show)… it was THAT harrowing and intense. I don’t know if I’d EVER watched a series that disturbed me quite this much (the film, We Need To Talk About Kevin, is maybe the only thing I could think of that rivaled how it made me feel; I also couldn’t even make it through the pilot episode of Adolescence). Almost zero moments of levity or tenderness… absolutely no redemption. It was super well-written and beautifully acted, but because of how physically ill, hopeless/depressed, and frightened it made me, I don’t think I’d recommend it to anyone.
Try watching Requiem for a Dream. That one will mess with you on many levels.
the parts that could have made me physically ill (the deformed faces of the 2 people Ruben severely beat) I fast-forwarded thru those scenes! I have to disagree, there were small moments of levity (very few and very short, but a few) While the hospital scene was certainly loud and violent at times, as well as the prison scene, there were a few tender moments between Nialls and Ruben.
This passes as entertainment, Hollyweird promoting all types of garbage. The people that love this kind of thing need their devices checked. A PDF was caught recently and this was no1 show, he claimed this was the best thing on tv…….
it was EXCELLENT
What the Name this song?
Major acting awards are due for Jamie Bell AND Richard Gadd (and the actors who played them as young men). This intensely perfect.
strangely when you look that show up in Wikipedia, it lists all of the actors real names EXCEPT the young Niall & Ruben) not sure why
They got shut out by the Emmy’s
@williamerazo3921ARGH!!! You’re right!!! “Yes, HBO’s “Half Man” was largely snubbed at the 78th Emmy Awards, receiving only one major nomination despite being an early favorite. While creator and writer Richard Gadd earned a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series, the project was completely shut out of the Best Limited or Anthology Series race. Co-star Jamie Bell was also notably left off the ballot, with industry insiders suggesting the show’s For Your Consideration (FYC) campaign panel fell flat with voters.” I AM PISSED!
@intothewoods_dave what an injustice, everyone did an excellent job!
absolutely AWESOME show!
So when did they change the score of this trailer?
so many people are bringing up the music, why?
@mikmag7327 so the original trailer with the music was a much brighter representation what was going on
@williamerazo3921 i don’t think I noticed the music, but what was going on was definitely not “bright”, it’s a very dark show, excellent, but dark
