Good to see GM didn’t learn anything from the Great Recession. I remember them going through bankruptcy after a massive energy shock that lead us into a recession. They started talking about smaller cars. hybrids and EVs, then went right back to building huge crap that eats gas. It sells when times are good but that’s not where we are headed.
They have 12 BEV models in their line up the most of any other automaker in the US and the 2nd largest market share for EVs. That’s not the problem, though the rising gas prices will help the sales of those vehicles.
But for comparison the Silverado sold 577,434 units in 2025. The Silverado EV sold 9,379 units. The best selling BEV Pickup the Ford F-150 Lightning never sold more than 33,510 units in 2024.
Another example The Chevy Equinox sold 274,356 in 2025. The Chevy Equinox EV the third best selling BEV in the country, that with the Tax Credit was $28K with 300 miles of range, sold only 57,945 units.

@jordanslingluff287the Chevy Bolt is currently the cheapest EV on the market and the Chevy Equinox is considered the greatest value BEV in the US market offering great space which the American Market likes and 300+ miles of range. Which is also preferred in the US Market.
I can’t wait until these pickup trucks and jeep owners start paying for $6 gas
