Front Page Detective stars Edmund Lowe as David Chase, a newspaper columnist who helps police solve especially difficult mysteries. In this episode David’s car breaks down in a snowstorm. He knocks on the door of a house seeking shelter, only to find he is in the house of the family of a killer he helped track down for the police. Staying the night in the creepy house, it seems pretty evident someone might seek revenge leading to David’s death. At least there are some attractive ladies in the house to pass the time. This suspenseful mystery and crime drama will have you on the edge of your seat. Cast includes Bettie Best, Veronika Pataky, Helen Wallace, John Phillips, Peter Similuk, and Karl Brindle. Produced by Jerry Fairbanks using the Multicam system he invented in 1947. This three camera system of filming TV shows is still in use today. Transferred from 16mm b-w film.

8/10. More farce than film (lots of over-acting, particularly by the wife) but it’s an OK watch.
This exact story was used on The Adventures of Philip Marlowe with Gerald Mohr, on radio.
Thanks for the upload.
You’re welcome
Glad I stumbled upon this tv 📺 series. There’s nothing worth watching on tv these days .

Big thanks
Great Episode 👌 👍
The grim echo the adventures of Phillip Marlowe radio play was the first to use this story. Back then they didn’t use reruns the same way we do today. They just cast the same story with different characters and actors. Partial rewrite too I wasn’t expecting that
Thanks for the history.
Anyone else miss the days when we could open the door and invite the odd stranger in, because it’s cold outside?
Lowe sounds the part as dashing Mr. Chase, but he looks like the grandfather (or at least father) of the girls whose hearts go pitty-pat over him. It looks strange. But I’m enjoying them! Thanks for Sharing these!!
Thanks for watching.
