We take a look at Korg’s wavestate synth.
Korg were one of the first to jump on the new year new gear bandwagon with the Wavestate, something of a remake of the original Wavestation, a classic vector synth from the ’90s.
Built in a familiar form, the Wavestate looks similar to the popular analogue Minilogue and Monologue synths, but is fully digital, with 64-voice polyphony over four layers. At £699, it’s more expensive than Korg’s recent synth output, but is a lot more flexible.

Judging by most peoples demo reactions this is going to be the most underrated synth in recent history. People claiming this is “just a rompler” have no idea what they are talking about. If you can’t make interesting, complex and original sounds with such a machine then there is no hope for you. So many modulation options, tones, filters and layers.. it’s amazing.
Thanks for the video. The synth audio is too low. Your voice and the clicking of the keys are louder than the synth sounds. The Wavestate is an awesome instrument!!
