You were able to walk through security with box cutters back then. There was no need for some complex scheme where you had help on the ground planting them in advance.
Same thing in reverse, if I was one of those 4 guys, I could just walk off the plane and throw the box cutters into the first trash can I found. There’s no need to be opening hatches in the floor.
Anyways, it’s interesting, but the conclusions don’t make a lot of sense. Didn’t they have their names and couldn’t they tell if all these people paid for their tickets in cash like all the others? Sounds like a trivial investigation. Shouldn’t have taken that long just to match that big pattern. Shame they never confirmed or denied anything publicly.
I will NEVER fly United again after seeing this and hearing how they treated their own. Despicable.
