Explosions were heard in Kyiv overnight in as Russia launched a drone and missile attack, according to a report from The New York Times.
Reuters also reported that the strikes injured at least five people and triggered a fire in a hotel. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier warned that an overnight attack on his country could be coming. Many residents in the capital city took shelter and packed into subway stations amid those warnings.
