FX’s hit series “Love Story” has renewed fascination in John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, who died tragically in a 1999 plane crash. However, each episode begins with the caveat that “certain depictions of people and events have been dramatized or fictionalized for storytelling purposes.” Following the Mar. 26 finale, Page Six senior reporter Leah Bitsky is here to break down which parts of the series are fact and which are allegedly fiction. The late couple’s close friend, Sasha Chermayeff, spoke exclusively to us about what the show got right and wrong. Actress Daryl Hannah also slammed the show’s portrayal of her.

I’ve never watched this show before, but these two need to read ex-NY Post columnist Maureen Callahan’s book, “Ask Not.” Do they realize that this Sasha person was one of JFK Jr.’s closest long-time friends and naturally is going to play everything up in his favor? The guests at that wedding were reportedly NOT happy about being made to wait hours in the stifling heat with “chiggers”(some kind of burr?) sticking to them. Love Story might have gotten lots of things wrong, but that wasn’t one of them.
And if they’d done an iota of research, they’d have known there was no “ocean breeze” because the wedding was in a chapel in the interior of the island, in the woods. 🤦 It was likely suffocating. Who decides to get married on an island but not on the BEACH?
