5:27 Honest question: How is Kyler’s contract in AZ being guaranteed if he got hurt last year different than them paying $37 million for him not to play?

Here is the plan, Kyler wins the job JJ is traded and we go 9-8 with no playoffs. Next year we decide which mediocre quarterback to pay 50 million for. Continuation of mid purgatory. Then 3 years down the road JJ matures and figures it out and wins a Superbowl with another team.

Murray sucks. AND HE’S ALWAYS SUCKED. His .250 winning percentage against teams with a .500 or better record proves it. This debacle while JJ is on a rookie deal will be the reason KoC gets shown the door eventually.. 3 of Murray’s last 4 seasons he started 11, 8, and 5 games. He has a no tag clause so next year at age 30 you’ll have to give tiny feeble Kyler a guaranteed long term mint or JJ plays well on his last year of his rookie deal and feels zero obligation to re-sign with a team that doesn’t believe in him.

Let’s be real, ESPN crowned Kyler as QB1 the day he was signed purely for narrative reasons. His training camp successes are wildly overblown.

“Kyler is clearly the guy” and “JJ has not shown enough” are both false pretenses for a qb competition. Has Kyler demonstrated in these practices that he is clearly doing better than JJ? No one is making that claim because it’s not true. Neither qb has clearly demonstrated that yet. Hence, the qb competition should continue. Kyler has to win the job, but Kyler “bros” want the premise to be that it is Kylers job to lose. And if theses guys show no significant separation, the organization is better off with JJ continuing to develop vs using a one-year bandaid FA.
