It doesn’t matter who the coach is. If you are not any good no coach can will be of any help. How many coaches has she had? More than any player yet apart from the US open she had not won a single tournament.
Sadly too much attention adding to the pressure. Seems she is not that motivated and already has millions in the bank.
I think Petchey is knowledgeable and can give Emma something she needs to increase her performance.I don’t think it would be a long term commitment because Emma’s growth comes from chipping away something from everyone. As much as many observers don’t like that it’s really an intelligent way of advancing in the maturity as player required to win championships 👍
“Finding success”? What success?
In faking injuries
Emma Raducanu still has the potential to be a top 10 player chasing Grand Slams. To achieve this she needs an excellent coach with her, she maintains trust and reliability with that coach and she stays fit. Since Sept 2021 none of that has happened, she has had coaches who have changed her game, often for the worst, she hasnt found a coach she is fully happy with(except Cavaday) and she has had surgery on both her wrists and left ankle, and she now has a fitness coach with her fulltime. Then you factor in the decision by her parents to ask that she concentrate her time on getting her A Levels, that put her at least 1 year behind the other girls on the circuit.
What tennis fans are doing is watching a player who has superb technique, a tenacious player with a tennis brain, doesnt grunt and finally a lovely friendly personality. She is a joy to watch, personally for me its like watching a female Federer.
I would much rather watch her than any other player on the circuit – there are too many players who give me a headache just listening to their grunting all during the match!
The speaker is right, she needs a stable surrounding to protect her where her parents kept crashing it, that’s just like a girl from a broken family where she couldn’t built up a solid psychological state in herself to fight for herself, basically not confident enough inside her. But when you see her playing for Britain on Billie Jean King Cup, she was totally different, since ,I think, she was totally confident enough to fight for her country, since it is a team support behind. So, therefore, it’s all psychological!
Too many people in these comments 2nd-guessing stuff they know nothing about, and clearly some who are simply unkind, unpleasant people who find perverse enjoyment in making the world a worse place to live in.
