What odd captioning in the trailer. I hate when previews feel the need to literally spell out who the main star performer is as its selling point in the text as if we can’t see the rest of the trailer for ourselves.
Like, yes, we know who Johnny Depp and his beloved characters are, and why they’ve left their imprint on us forever. Hell, we *know* the hell he’s been through and that he’s back performing because…he’s already there in your damn trailer. How can we tell? We’ve got *eyes!*
I love the Christmas Carol story and yes obviously it’s a well-known fairy tale. But you take me out of suspending my disbelief and enjoying it as a story when you point out, “Ooh look everyone! Remember *this ACTOR??”* Like wtf?
Anyway I’m excited to see it and to see Depp in action again. But the trailer’s captioning is stupid, unfocused, and as such, unnecessary.
