This species is the most unique on the planet.
Many island animals evolve unique traits because isolation limits competition and creates incredible examples of adaptation. For example, the Galápagos giant tortoise can live for more than 100 years and has evolved different shell shapes depending on the island it inhabits.
My expectations
Those independently moving eyes are one of nature’s greatest inventions.
