I don’t know if its true, but I’ve always felt that if you gave a good NASCAR driver half the weight, twice the grip and the same horsepower, they stand a good chance of winning the indy 500. Again, no way to know that, but i just feel like if you gave a good Nascar driver all the vehicular advantage of an indy car they would be insanely fast in them.

Essentially, only true race car drivers can drive an IndyCar.

Driving a NASCAR is so easy, anyone can get into a NASCAR and go fast.

    Nascar has power steering.
    Indycar doesn’t.
I did a racing sim at ims where you get to do a qualifying lap and that steering column is so stiff like i had to put my whole body weight almost to making the wheel turn.
And Indycar is set up to go one way: left.
They dont handle straight very well. Even serpentining to get temp in your tires is risky (watch scott mclaughlin’s crash from last year’s 500 to see why)
So, youre trying to force a car to keep straight when its clearly wanting to pull left, all while going 230 mph into a turn. So, Indycar is way more technical than nascar

Yeah he is completely correct NASCAR vs IndyCar is just so different it’s insane. IndyCar if your struggling with grip or other stuff like that just go as fast as possible it’s way better, NASCAR if you start struggling with grip or other stuff like that then you have gone too fast you need to dial it back.
