Talons is the only 6 part story of the classic show that I feel like actually has enough plot and has sufficiently well written side characters to justify its length

    “Til we meet again, Sarah”
    Awwww….

And I remember how exciting it was to get the Deadly Assassin video.

16:45 I may be wrong but I thought that when the doctor says “they’re what’s known as a very nasty bunch” he was referring to the local Chinese gangs not Chinese people in general? If I’ve missed some context then I stand corrected but that’s what I thought it was. The doctor does also ask Chang if he is Chinese meaning the doctor doesn’t see race initially. But the yellow face is more of a blatant issue.

I disagree with your ranking… who doesn’t? I would just go first to last in the season for last to first importance. Maybe flopping Assassin and Face. Holmes-Hinchcliffe were upping their game continuously throughout this season.

    1. The Talons of Weng Chiang
    Would be my ranking.
There are no duds in this season, I like every story. Even though Hand is my least favorite story I’d still rate it as B tier, good, but not great.
I share the criticisms of Talons, regarding yellowface. Despite the actor’s great performance, it should have been given to an Asian actor. But even with this counting against it, it is close to, or is, one of the top 10 Doctor Who stories of all time.
