Do the companies who present their products pay something to be on these Awards?.. Do anyone of these companies who present their products run ads or give any kind of money to DJ mag for advertisement or any other service from DJ Mag?.
These are products that have been reviewed in the mag throughout the year, nobody pays to be part of the awards, the companies run ads not only in our publication but other music publications. Some of them don’t DJ Tech Handy Kutz for example…
Thank you. I do not understand what you mean when you say that some of them dont´t DJ tech… I have seen here only 4 or 5 companies presenting their products. How did they get there?. Which criteria do DJ mag uses to select those companies?. Does any company can present their product?. Can I present my product as well next year?. What should I do?
The process starts with an open invite for companies to nominate products for each category, as there are only five products per category it is then shortlisted. It is not viable to have an unlimited number of products per category, the decision to shortlist a particular product is made with consultation of industry professionals, however certain factors will prevail. There are plenty of mixers that could potentially fall into the Ultimate Club Mixer category, however generally speaking the shortlisted products are the ones that would be used or requested by DJs, we are never going to get an exact listing, as one person’s candy is another person’s poison, there are a number of rotary mixers, that could indeed make up a category in their own right, but again we have to limit how many categories we have. We will always look at making it as fair as can be. We would invite you to submit your product for consideration for 2019, we would also like to know what it is and potentially feature it in the publication for review.
