John Gilbert had a good speaking voice, but not the manly man’s timbre that audiences expected. That, alcohol and constant fights with Louis B Mayer led to his early demise. Mary Nolan would certainly be worth keeping. High adventure, photographed by the great James Wong Howe. Getting these films into the public domain allows them to be seen by new generations.
