I think its just because he was EXTREMELY OVERRATED last year. They had what 1 or 2 wins of teams over 500. And 1 was the in divison bills. Sure they got to the super bowl but that 100% wasnt because of maye. That was the defense and the rest of the team. Stats like this dont lie when ot shoes that when you play good teams you do bad but when you play bad teams you do good. Case and point to all the stats they said at the start. And those arent just bs stats liek qbr in the 1st quarter or ehatever else. Those are plain stats that measure how good a qb is at all time. And they showed hes a middle of the pack qb with upside.
He had 1 good season playing very bad teams. There is a reason they were called schedule merchants. His stats dont lie when they play good teams. Hes just not good whek it counts. Its no different with cj, or daniels or love or anyone else who had 1 very good year but are/have been mid at best any other year
Your expectations for QBs still under rookie contracts are unrealistic. You have to be patient, there are a lot of examples of QBs not being early on and becoming elite.
