My gosh, I didn’t expected such a big size of city!!. So proud teacher Josue Lozada was part of the documentary.

Great video but why did you do the dive without a tank? You could be down there for hours and get all the scans you needed

I’ve really enjoyed this series. I was wondering about something though after watching some episodes and also having observations of my own trips to the Yucatan. It appears that some of the structures are burned or damaged intentionally. There are several options. One of them that the Spanish destroyed them but also if the people that lived there destroyed or defaced them themselves because they were being attacked. Do you think the enemy would want those temples and structures after they have been ‘deactivated’ or defaced?. If they were superstitious and spiritual people, wouldn’t these structures have bad karma? They would need to do some serious stuff before building over them. I think the Maya only built over them when those structures were being passed on to the next king. There is an episode where they find a hoard of broken pots, I also see this differently. An offering to the Gods would not be in a form of a hoard. I think the pots were destroyed so someone else couldn’t have them. Another option could be a group of individuals each making an offering but again, they looked like plain water pots but in a time of drought probably highly symbolic at that time.

Great episode. But my only pushback and maybe there is more evidence – but where are all the artifacts then if this is a massive city? Carvings? Anything? You would think there would be more carvings inside the mountain or more relics since it’s been the best preserved

I would love to see a search for the Mayan written language origin, more codices. I image there must be more in places like this. Sad so many were destroyed, but there must be more.

I thought the Maya people that helped the expedition were so beautiful and they were in awe too…of their own culture. So lovely to see!
