Looking for help from a lifetime of trauma, Lala checks in at a mental hospital. There, she meets Niani, and the two form an unbreakable bond of friendship. Once released, Niani learns she is pregnant, and is fearful that her mental illness, and medications will affect the baby. Lala takes it upon herself to protect Niani at all costs. All that changes when Lala’s own mental health is jeopardized, when her estranged mother returns in her life.
