This does not seem fair… is it vitamin or not?
The vitamin infusion he had, at the level he had, is used by athletes to mask the use of performance enhancing steroids…that’s why he’s been banned.
Get a sinner lawyer (who is also atp lawyer) if u have money that is .
My initial reaction to this was, wow that’s harsh. Followed by the knowledge that the knives would be out again for Sinner and to a lesser extent Iga. So I did what maybe the TC panel have apparently not done and looked up the decision on the ITIA website. This is more complicated than is being stated. I am not sure Max did ‘turn himself in’ – the ITIA report simply refers to an ongoing investigation prior to them notifying Max and interviewing him. The infusions actually took place in December 2023. Another unnamed player was involved and much of the evidence was from text exchanges on their phones..if you read the actual report, the balance of evidence led the ITIA to conclude that there was no intent to cheat (therefore reducing 4 years automatically to 2) but that they could not apply ‘no significant fault or negligence’ because Max didn’t do the checks he should have and also went back for a 2nd transfusion despite his concerns. The 6 month reduction was for his cooperation. Tracy, we cannot have the same for everyone- the process needs to be consistent (and looks to me like it is), but outcomes should NOT be the same because no 2 cases are the same. I do however agree with Jim that the sanctions are currently too harsh for non intentional, non performance enhancing infringements. Sinner said as much in his recent interview: the protocols are the same for everyone but if he thinks something should change it is punishing people for contamination when it’s proven there was no performance enhancement. Finally for everyone on the ‘how did Sinner only get 3 months’ bandwagon – you need to consider personal agency and action ie Max went and had the infusions, Halep took the supplements, Sharapova continued to take the medication, Iga (albeit with no way of knowing the Melatonin was contaminated) took the medication. In Sinner’s case he did nothing- he was contaminated by a 3rd party who had treated himself without Sinner’s knowledge or consent. That’s why his case is closer to Bortolotti’s who got ‘no fault or negligence’ as Sinner originally did. The reason WADA appealed was solely because the 3rd party was a member of his entourage and they wanted to uphold Strict Liability. I sincerely wish people would take the time to actually acqaint themselves with the facts.
Max gets a year and a half and Sinners gets 4 months?
Seems fair Sinner is obviously angel while Purcell is evil
Disgusted. This is so obviously unfair 👎
This is bullshit. The decision should be overturned immediately.
