Collin Gosselin shares never-before-told details from his childhood with ET’s Kevin Frazier. Collin’s memoir, ‘In the Shadow of Eight’ (out Oct. 13), describes his ‘jail cell’ bedroom, 24/7 surveillance and an alleged incident in which his mother, Kate Gosselin, yanked his ear ‘so hard it turned purple.’ In 2016, Collin claimed his mother sent him to a psychiatric facility, where he was heavily medicated for 22 months. Kate has not responded to ET’s request for comment regarding Collin’s allegations.

We all need a mother and a father to provide us with protection, love, stability, and so on—this is what a child needs to grow up and lead a normal life. It is truly terrible for a person to realize that his own mother deprived him of this from a very young age; his tears show that he still longs for a mother who could have given him all of that. Hopefully, he will be able to move past it, now that he has unburdened himself by writing that book

The craziest thing about this entire thing is that every label Kate has said about Colin is literally what she is herself. Only she forgotten narcissism.

The show was popular because she was openly abusive towards her husband . I can’t even imagine what the kids went through who didn’t jump when she’d scream jump!

I’m only 1/3 of the way into your book, and it’s hard to read. My heart breaks for you. You deserve to be loved. Especially by your mother. She’s the problem. Not you.
