Christie Hefner, Hugh Hefner’s daughter, served as President and CEO of Playboy Enterprises (and is the longest running female CEO of a publicly traded company!). We’re exploring her legacy and impact on how the brand continues to be remembered. She also made some interesting, diplomatic points through her few public statements, acknowledging the progressive workplace she was fostering internally, versus the negativity their product was associated with, culturally, and the life her father led.

1:08 I don’t know if I really trust crystals alleged version of events. Christie is very admirable in her work and progressiveness in the 80s/90s considering how backwards things were then it’s really cool and It’s very interesting to hear about, I wish we knew more about the actual Hefner family dynamics but it seems like Hugh was always a hyper independent but not completely deadbeat father.

I feel the same way about the Crystal comment! Holly said on my podcast that HH always spoke so highly of the mothers of his children. I guess two things can be true and maybe his tune changed over time. Thank you for watching this Christie vid! She’s fascinating to me.

You should interview Crystal! Can you imagine how many more secret stories in this disappearing dynasty left to be found??

Omg! I wonder if she would be willing to go on a show that Holly has been on. I feel like I know so much less about Crystal’s version of events too but would be curious about how much “clean up” she was left with (especially if the public already knows about the black book, scrapbooks etc)…

@lauraediezyou are so fair and genuine in your interviews, I CANNOT imagine her NOT wanting to. It would be amazing to learn about her…FROM her!

I’m really enjoying your thoughtful and well-researched insights. Perhaps next time do a deep dive on Mary. Thank you!

Can you do a video on Crystal? She is such a strange person. Her interviews are odd and she seems like an enigma (or a compulsive liar). Definitely a closed book. Would love to hear your unbiased reporting about her. TBH I think she has some serious mental health issues (personality disorder) based on watching many many of her interviews

I agree that something is off with her. I tried to watch an interview of hers and her speech was so slow. I had it on double speed just to make it at normal speed.i actually could not listen to the whole thing. .

I didn’t realize Christie never had kids. I just assumed she kept her kids out of the public spotlight. Hef’s oldest son, David, is super private as well.

It’s interesting that the brand went down hill so quickly after she left. Would be interesting to see what Playboy would look like today if she’d stayed
