My 12yr old son tantrumed once in his life. We were leaving the aquarium and he went mental. He was 4.
I picked him up, threw him in the car and told him that was the last time he would see an aquarium again because of that behaviour. He went to an aquarium with his grandparents for the first time again at 11. He’s never tantrumed again.
Sometimes being scary and unreasonably authoratative is necessary.
