On Thursday, after jurors viewed the capsized boat involved in the September 2022 crash, a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer took the stand and showed photographs of the vessel in court. The witness, who assisted in recovering the boat, also viewed video footage of the boat while it was underwater. George Pino is accused of operating the boat and allegedly causing the crash that killed 17-year-old Lucy Fernandez.

George Pino WAS the driver of the boat, he really should have grown a set and taken responsibility for his actions. Pretending he is innocent and taking his guilt to court makes him look even worse for the death of Lucy Fernandez.
No remorse from this killer, please find this killer guilty.
I just heard on day 4 of the trial where the prosecution stated that the vessel in question is a ship and the FWC Officer acknowledged it as so. As I can last recall, under CFR 33, a ship is a vessel that is 65 feet or longer. Where on the other hand, any vessel under 65 feet is considered as boat and not a ship. The vessel in evidence on this particular case is apparently, a 29 foot boat. It may be possible that the defense may call for dismissal of the evidence altogether or a mistrial if the testimony question and acknowledgement discrepancy is caught by the defense.
