Does anyone really think this matters to the players? They are out to earn the most money just like the rest of us, this was the path they chose to do so. The big name players made so much money that, unless they are horrible with money, they can simply put the clubs down and retire with the very tidy sums of money that they banked over the years. Mr. Chamblee saying that golf is somehow not about the money is ignoring the billions spent on endorsement deals, marketing, sponsorship, and every other aspect of the PGA that’s not about hitting a golf ball. This is a major sport, it’s all about the money….
The fans lose out when the best players are not allowed to compete. The game becomes less exciting and some fans will tune out.
