David Burke, who is perhaps best known for playing Dr. Watson in the 1980s #SherlockHolmes, left the series after 13 episodes due to an invitation to join the Royal Shakespeare Company along with his wife. (side note, Mr. Burke is alive and well at 90 years old!)
