Every time I trip on Betty Broderick’s story again…… I inevitably think about the Tokars case.

Dan was a PERVERT! Don’t agree with murder, but under the circumstances think anyone would snap! 🤔

No – Betty wasn’t a *fun loving person*. She was a narcisstic shrew that I honestly believe that no man, if they are honest would have stood to be married to. She’s was the definition of *crazy* – as her own extreme behavior
so clearly demonstrated when faced with something that thousands of women face, i.e. the dissolution of a
marriage- WITHOUT coming out of it, comforted by SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS A MONTH in alimony, MULTIPLE HOUSES, and (but for her own insane actions) JOINT CUSTODY OF HER CHILDREN AND CHILD SUPPORT from a rich man- and then do NOT do anything like what she did.

Imagine trying to resolve ANY martial conflict with this woman? I don’t see how it would have been possible?

And after making her own children orphans, she then *wasted* the rest of her life, uselessly, behind bars, merely because she refused to admit she was wrong. She saw *that* as a reasonable exchange- felt justified for the murder of two human beings up until the day she died.

Maybe this is just the mental difference that separates the genders. Many men, (like myself) see this in *logical* terms.

If Dan was *such* an asshole, then WHY would you *want* to be with him? Betty so *clearly* seems like a horrible partner to ME- (the mere *thought* of being nagged in that baby voice? Nightmares!) so, therefore, *I* would have found someone else more compatible or never got with her in the first place! Problem either solved or avoided with no deaths! Maybe I wouldn’t have been an asshole like Dan, but there is no way
I could see myself married to this insecure jealous narcissist for the rest of my life. It would be *torture*

Why wouldn’t her emperical rewards of the divorce be seen as her return on the investment of sacrifices she made to his career up front? Even if I paid for my wife to go through college and worked to buy us a house, in the no fault state I live in, if should got bored with me- and cheated on me, she could dump me and she would stay that house we live in and get custody of our child in the divorce. I can’t see myself getting a massive
monthly check, so I could just chill out and *not* marry my next partner, and force my ex to pay for my
lifestyle until the end of her life- and then collect on her social security. I would just have to bury my male pride and accept being blamed for the end of the marriage, and being considered a loser. I know a couple of
friends this has happened to- I look on *them* as cautionary tales- because they so *obviously* screwed up
*by marrying the wrong woman*!

If I expressed rage, it would merely be seen as pitiful or dangerous– if I went as far as to murder her,
and her new husband, there would be NO sympathy for me at all. Nor should there be- because I
would (rightly) be judged as a pitiful monstrous murderer.

I think in many cases like this maybe women just DO things for we men – who often both do not deserve them,
nor ASK for them- and then feel betrayed when we men betray them *emotionally* by not returning
their *emotional* investment. That’s why we look at this and see only the fact that Betty was by no
means left destitute in *financial* terms, something that many of the women commenting seem blind to,
but just cannot get past the *emotional* betrayal of this women being *discarded* for a younger woman and
seem to feel that justifies her actions in a way they would not accept if the genders were reversed.
