This should be a call for a slowdown in the roll out of the “use of AI” not of the development of these LLM solutions. LLMs don’t do anything, anywhere, ever. Surrounding systems use LLMs to get generated information and then act on that information. It is the engineered, ultimately procedural, systems that are “breaking out” and hacking other companies, when it’s actually happening at all. Therefore, the acting company should be culpable and liable to the same legal responsibilities of all other software actions in the past. These AI companies should be prosecuted for computer crime acts just like any other software because the software “doing the action” is just like any other software. The AI is not taking the action, the procedural code acting on what it received from the AI is taking the action and so these companies should be held liable instead of exempt like they are ridiculously being allowed.
The point of making you think AI does this on it’s own is so that Google can commit crimes without legal responsibility. The congress, president, and the DOJ are so old and stupid they will believe it, or also use it to commit crimes themselves.
The EU doesn’t need the US to defeat Putin. They just need to do it. Putin has one card, the nuclear card. If that card makes you pause then you should just surrender and become a slave state of Russia, because you essentially already have surrendered.
