from a songwriter’s pov I must say this was such a great and captivating interview, asking really interesting questions!
Found my newest favorite podcast! I had to subscribe to The Billboard Hot 100 YouTube Channel before I found this but I always believed everything happens for a reason and I’ve been on a Podcast watching streak these past two years. So it’s about time I got recommended a podcast with a girl host as a recommendation other than “Call Her Daddy” and “Michelle Obama Podcast”.
The part that intrigued me the most is the idea of “flipping” songs, not the word I will use, but it is something I’ve been doing a prolific amount of personal time these past four years. To interpret what Amy said, most of the time I couldn’t find myself re-imagining songs, but after creating a bunch of original songs, I found myself trying to mix cover songs into my two song setlist during Open Mics. Once I realized I couldn’t sing their songs with my voice, I decided to interpolate the songs by keeping the essence of the theme with a proud singing voice so my pride won’t be tarnished from copying a right.
