The insurance companies and medical providers (usually corporate and private equity owned) discovered that they could get around the caps on profits by increasing prices. So a procedure that cost $1000 would have to correspond to $850 in paid premiums ( so insurance only got 15%) but if you double the price, hey that $150 suddenly became $300. But the associated premium is now $1700 so all the ACA buyers have their premiums hiked up. Plus other types of insurance have to negotiate around the new prices.
Only communism can save us from corporate tyranny and capitalist greed.
