10 minutes into the movie and I’m already hoping an alien eats grunge-boi’s face. What a poo-butt!
Changelings…..
Matthew 13:38: “The tares” are part of it; they are here masked and walking among us. They have plans.
This was a better, somewhat “Rashomon movie” kind of tail in an Alien abduction and body snatcher, fearful mystery in the “watch out for bears in the night” format. Interesting creative mix of locust insect with reptile for Alien face on some of them. The ending allows several possible ways to think of how the “resolution” of the mystery goes. Very good Actors, albeit paranoid as hell. But what I often ponder is how much real science proves the somewhat paranoid ideas about somehow biological Alien beings shaped approximately like human forms of some variety can arrive across the vast distances of space to want to harvest organs or otherwise uptake use of human bodies very abusive of any mutual respect of other intelligent beings. I have to doubt it helps our readiness to understand the real possibilities of ET kinds of entities, to think that something like the Anschluss German Occupation Of Czechoslovakia is what to look out for. Seeing what Moore’s Law of technology progression is doing now with AI development, the truth is biologicals in space like they’d need our spleen is just not likely, and a military soldiers invasion stealthy or otherwise launched across the distance barriers of space/time also just does not at all seem likely. A small distribution of rouge biological space pirate organizations maybe something, but it would not be likely needing biological tissues from Earth? We can’t even do our own virus research without accidentally contaminating the whole planet. That’s why I don’t prefer this kind of scenario. As a possibility, it does not compare to “The Day the Earth Stood Still” with a kind of AI technology basis to the invading system that can build any kidney or spleen it would want from its own database. That’s the kind of ETs we need to be watchful and smarter to recognize, not “there could be bears in the dark.” But I don’t mean this wasn’t provocative and pretty good spooky sci-fi. As I said, it may be there are rogue elements of biological pirate organizations out there, but they most likely have an economics in their ways, not the least motivated to some kind of brutal invasion and violent warfare on the bodies of humans on Earth. To little reward, and too much trouble to get there and find anything that rewards the venture. Mining if you’re already established astronautical space civilization is done on low gravity smaller planets less dangerous and energy consuming to land on and launch from, with fewer virus and bacteria risks in said environment to contend with on the trips. Space pirates would go where the metals and minerals are easier to collect. The space AI entity is the real risky possibility, not space bears. My own sci-fi takes a different tack on this kind of hypothesis.
All the clues are there, you just have to think about it. And once you do you can figure out what this movie is really about before the end.
Low budget, bad acting & boring. Guy freeloading off his GF, alien abduction book, totally neurotic – just had to switch off as the greys started peering round trees. It’s that bad…
