Stained glass, appropriate to the era, would disguise the poor view and let the light in. (I wrote this b4 watching this video, and smiled when I saw what they did). Its a beautiful place, conserved with love, and attention to detail.
I would of put the oysters shells on a board and attach it to the fireplace in case I wanted to change it.
Wonderful result guys! 🎉 With the porch, I would have replaced the joists with stainless steel to prevent rotting from flooding. 👌

Love the idea of the stained glass! Really the only way to keep the window and block the view in a tasteful way
