After Kacee Terry’s death, investigators uncovered more than 28,000 messages between her and her best friend, Meggan—including disturbing conversations about insulin, Kacee’s supposed terminal cancer, and a $1.5 million life insurance policy.
But investigators discovered the cancer and insurance policy weren’t real, leaving prosecutors and ultimately a jury with a complicated question: Who was really in control?
