As of Tuesday afternoon, eight people were seated for the jury in the trial against Lindsay Clancy. Clancy killed her three young children inside the family’s home in January 2023 before attempting to take her own life. Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, were found with exercise bands around their necks. So far, the jury makeup is three men and five women. Things also got a bit heated in the courtroom right before a lunch break. CourtTV’s Julia Jenae and Law&Crime’s Sierra Gillespie break down what is happening inside the Massachusetts courtroom.

I had severe postpartum depression and separately had psychosis so I can give a little context. During my PPD my mind was constantly saying thoughts like, “I could drive off this bridge with all of us in this car.” But I was still aware and could fight those thoughts. For my psychosis episodes I had zero control over my thoughts. I was on a cocktail of benzos my psychiatrist prescribed. I hurt myself and had to go to my PCP who saw all the meds I was on and immediately arraigned to have me safely detoxed and reported my psychiatrist.
The people who have her all those meds should be on trial with her.
Her not pleading guilty says everything. You did this stop making excuses.

The brain is an organ, too. So little mercy and grace is given to people who have disorders of the brain because others cannot physically SEE the disability. Meanwhile, there are so many people who struggle with brain disorders! If my ADHD son or autistic nephew, who both appear physically normal in every way, were in wheelchairs or deformed, more people would be willing to give them grace when their disabilities cause responses that differ from the way a non-neurodivergent would respond. Something is very wrong with the way mental health is dealt with in our nation.
