The trial for the Massachusetts mom accused of killing her three young children began on Monday.
35-year-old Lindsay Clancy is charged with three counts of murder and strangulation in connection with the deaths of her children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. She’s accused of purposely sending her husband out for errands, timing how long it would take and then allegedly killing her three kids before attempting suicide.
Her lawyers – and her husband – say she was not responsible for her actions, citing postpartum psychosis.
LiveNOW’s Mike Pache discussed the case with criminal defense attorney Nicole DeBorde.
MORE INFORMATION:
Lindsay and her husband have maintained that the doctors who treated her misdiagnosed and overmedicated her, causing her to hallucinate voices telling her to kill her kids. The allegations are central to lawsuits claiming that medical professionals failed to diagnose her escalating postpartum psychosis before the deadly tragedy.
“Lindsay Clancy did everything a mother in her situation could do,” the lawsuit says, alleging she sought treatment, went to emergency rooms, contacted crisis services, admitted herself to hospitals and repeatedly reported her worsening symptoms.

No matter the outcome of this trial this woman has to live with the evil that she committed, every day, every night, all day long.
And to think – if she had killed them before they were born, they would have called it ”Women’s health care” and she would have been praised. What a twisted world we live in
You don’t think. That’s the problem.
These are deeply emotional issues where people see the world through very different lenses. Compassion, truth, and careful judgment matter. ⚖
@Doug-From-Canada Oh, I think alright. As a mother, I KNOW that abortion is just as evil as killing the children after they are born. If you think the unborn are not human beings with physical feelings and can feel every single pain of the torture they are going through while being hacked apart alive – then YOU are the one who is not thinking. Or, you have no soul.
@Blurb777 The “feels every second of it” line isn’t what the research shows. The mainstream view is that the wiring for conscious pain isn’t in place until somewhere around 24 weeks. There’s a minority position that puts it earlier, maybe 12 or 13. Nobody credible puts it earlier. A vast majority of abortions happen long before this, and if they don’t, there’s usually a good medical reason for it, which is why it’s called healthcare.
Liberal women
So awful. Post partum depression IS NO JOKE. Anyone who can say this woman is evil or a demon has absolutely NO idea what real post partum depression and over medication does to a person’s brain. I’ve lived it and it’s a scary, horrible, absolute nightmare place to be. I feel so sad for her husband, I feel so sad for all their family members and community and I feel sad for her, because once you’re out of that psychosis and back to ‘normal’ you shudder to think of all the things you said, did, and thought about. She will forever feel the immense pain of those actions in a moment of complete breakdown. My hope is that stories like these can change the understanding and environment of our society around having children and the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual tax it is to a person’s psyche. We need to do better. Mothers need more support, and love, and understanding.
If you killed your 3 children, I don’t care if you’re on a cocktail of psych meds, dealing with post partum depression, or literally anything else at all, you need to be in or under the prison for eternity.
The whole “momentary insanity” plea is an absurd defense. Crazy doesn’t trump evil. Doing evil because you’re crazy is still evil. It’s like, “Oh, you killed your 3 children because you’re crazy?? WE ALREADY KNOW THAT”
This entire trail is going to be about deciding if she’s crazy or if she’s evil.
(Spoiler, she’s both)
WTF!
Bring back the Death Sentence.
Imagine being an evil woman attempting to justify this evil woman’s actions with an excuse
There is no emotion with her whether it is because she is so drugged up still!
So psychotic people can’t make plans? Does the ability to make plans make a psycho less psychotic?
Yes i believe in PPD however, she shows a state of consciousness with the fact she took her daughter to the dr that morning and the dr noticed nothing out of place, secondly, she sent her husband to a far away restaurant, which also shows a awareness of what she was getting ready to do. She’s a nurse. Is it possible she used the system to conceal what she knew she was going to do. I so want to believe she’s like Andrea Yates who truly believed she was doing the best thing for her kids.
I I hope the defense bring up post partum neural pruning and how it exacerbates ppp
So Abortions are ok ? Murder is Ok ?
They are both wrong !!!
If for some reason, I ever harmed my children, I would not want to defense. I would just want them to lock me away forever. No appeals, no nothing. The death penalty is too easy. A lifetime living in a box thinking about exactly what you did to your children would be more painful than anything else I could think of.
Somehow phsycotic disappears when threatened imprisonment.
