Maybe I’m crazy but I’m just gonna say it since no one else seems to be… Serena Williams came back to tennis for two things… 24 and 25!!!! I don’t believe for one second she has come back for any other reason. Yes, she wants her kids to see her play and that’s a very nice reason to give to the media without saying what she truly wants. There’s simply no way with the grueling anti doping testing procedures and the months of training that she just came back for the fun of it (or even just to play doubles with Venus). NOW… whether she gets 24 and 25 is a different story and we will see. But she is back in tennis to give it one last shot before it’s too late. There. I said it! GO SERENA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I also believe neither she or her team are even speaking about this because no one, especially Serena, even wants to put that out in the air for everyone to speculate, criticize, tear apart, cheer on, spook her, etc…She remembers how close she was to the calendar slam and how easy that layup was for her before falling in the US Open semis. She’s already dealing with the nerves from coming back after four years. She doesn’t want ANY MORE PRESSURE on her.

And I’ll say the other quiet part out aloud… I cannot WAIT for a Serena vs. Iga 3rd round. And, frankly, I’m more concerned about Iga not getting there than Serena.
We all know that Serena has been in the lab for months and has likely prepared for this event more than she has any other event she’s entered in the last decade.
The last thing the field wants to see is Serena Williams with momentum. The longer she’s in the draw, the more dangerous she is.

I am sick of the over coverage. She’s rude to players (Can anyone forget how she treated Osaka after her US Open?!). She is a bully to the refs, and there are so many instances of this with the worst being at the same US Open..
Women’s tennis has been so much more enjoyable since they both left. Such rude prima donas.
Serena was finalist in 4 GS after winning her last grandslam in 2017. Before taking retirement,she won other wta titles 500 events . She took that decision to take a break coz she was in the situation of “life and death”. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken break till,she felt to do that. I just want to see her win or lose doesn’t matter for me now. It’s a blessing for those who have a journey by watching Serena and Veenus when they both turned pro. Congratulations 👏🎉 Serena for your comeback and all the best ❤.

So many optimistic people, wow. I don’t believe she can win a single match. She’s almost 45. Can you imagine Roger coming back and beating the young guys? The body just can’t withstand this. If she wins anything, I’ll lose all respect for women’s tennis… respectfully 😆
