I was going to send Max $50 if he managed to pronounce “Wicomico” county in Maryland correctly. Unfortunately, he butchered it in a way I’ve never heard before! How do you get Winna-micko from Wicomico? Max’s phonetic dyslexia does some crazy things! Lol.

I think it might be hard to see the place names on his monitors, too. I would imagine he has a bunch of monitors in the weather studio (and he wears glasses already) so it could be a challenge to be super accurate with place names and predicting tornado warnings at the same time
β@msmltvcktlThere’s a running joke around here about outsiders’ inability to pronounce Wicomico county. Also Worcester produces some funny mispronunciations. It’s all in good fun and it seemed like a safe bet that Max wouldn’t say it right.
On the flip side, though, I think if you’re trying to alert the public to impending danger, then getting the names correct, or at least close enough, is fairly critical so people in harm’s way don’t miss that warning.
Phonetic dyslexia certainly makes his job more of a challenge. Some people’s brains are just wired differently. I’m glad he’s open to excepting corrections in the chat.
Drove through Sidney Nebraska and went through a storm around 5:30 and I tell you it was pretty sketch. I dont get scared very easy but driving through that storm had me pretty worried to be honest.
