UK, France to Host Summit on Strait of Hormuz 0 (0)

The UK and France are hosting a summit to discuss setting up a naval force that would ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The Maritime Freedom of Navigation Initiative would be “strictly defensive in nature,” according to a UK statement, and it would be coupled with insurance industry support and back efforts to clear mines in the strait. The European initiative may not go far enough to satisfy Trump, who has mocked NATO over what he’s called a refusal to help the US confront Iran. US President Donald Trump said it is “looking very good” that the US and Iran could clinch a permanent ceasefire as the two sides discuss an extended truce ahead of its expiration next week. On Thursday, Trump said Israel and Lebanon had agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the truce, calling it a step toward a broader peace agreement. Netflix Beats on Earnings, but Misses on the Forecast, Sending Shares Lower 0 (0)

David Joyce, Seaport Research Partners senior analyst, says Netflix’s full-year forecast reinforces that the company is still a growth stock, despite giving a forecast for the second quarter that fell short of analysts expectations.
