On paper it’s an easy win for zverev.
BUT, there’s just one problem.
Zverev is a choker when it matters, and this final has more pressure than any other match of his life.
Zverev loses unloseable matches because of choking.
He lost to Theim in the US Open final when Theim could hardly walk, and he lost to Alcaraz in the Aus Open 2026 semi when Carlos could hardly walk.
With Alcaraz and Sinner both out Zverev is a red hot and sentimental favourite, and he should win – but will he??
If Cobilli can push him hard enough to make it tight, then Cobolli will win.
Zverev needs to win relatively easy if he is to win at all!!

@echochamber1234 No, but he beat Zverev this year on clay in Munich 6-3, 6-3!! Cobolli’s camp know about Zverev’s mental struggles if things get tight, so I’m sure they have a plan.

I hope Zverev wins because Arnaldi and the Italian team behaved unsportsmanlikely when they announced they would not play due to a virus. Cobolli’s only weapon against Zverev was to reach the final in top form.
Zverev will also have to fight against unsportsmanlike conduct.
