The TARDIS materialises in a quarry just as the rock face is blasted away by open cast miners. Sarah Jane is buried and when the Doctor and the miners dig her out, she is grasping a hand made of rock incredibly tightly. Soon, under its influence, she breaks into a nuclear power plant and places the hand in the radioactive core; quickly it starts to regrow a body and gains a life of its own.
First Broadcast between the 2nd – 23rd October 1976
Starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor alongside Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith)

Did Abigail Thorn go back in time and take a part in Doctor Who?

To me the worst thing they did to the character bringing her back for “School Reunion” was making her a rather sad, lonely woman who never seemed to have moved on. The “Adventures” kiddie show did a tiny bit to give SJS a bit of a rounded life with kids and all but it was like a terrible consolation prize really.
hadn’t watched this in forever – I embarked a week or so ago to rewatch her entire arc from Pertwee to the end here and I still got misty eyed and shed a tear. What a wonderful time she gave us all.
Aww Sarah Jane! I love how I randomly find the departure episodes. First it was Jo’s departure and now hers. Goodbye, Sarah Jane! We’ll miss you!
Well, Eldrad is at the bottom of the abyss, but so is his ring…. I haven’t watched any of the later regenerations after McCoy, but perhaps Eldrad returned . .. or could still return
The worst part about her leaving was that Elizabeth Sladen thought that the producers were actively trying to replace her and quit , only to find out that She was wrong, and they loved her and would have rather she had stayed on for another year!!!
Little Tommy Baker.. best dr ever
