Some of us aren’t that lucky. My father was verbally and physically abusive. He beat us down. My mother just pretended it wasn’t going on. She was passive or maybe she didn’t know what to do because she was raised that way as well as my father. I realize now I didn’t know any better and made the same bad choices. The two of them should have never had children.
