MOVIE SYNOPSIS
Professional hitman Eric O’Byrne is sent to Miami with one assignment: kill veteran stunt coordinator Lance Huston.
The mob blames Lance for the death of a young stuntman named Jimmy, but there’s more to the story. Before his death, Jimmy stole both mafia money and drugs connected to an undercover FBI operation.
As Eric gets close to Lance, he begins learning the stunt business and becomes drawn to a life very different from the criminal world he knows. Complicating matters even further, he falls for Lance’s daughter, Clarissa.
Now Eric must decide whether to complete the contract or protect the people who have begun to feel like family.

CUBA GOODING JR. SPOTLIGHT
Cuba Gooding Jr. plays Draven, an undercover FBI agent whose operation becomes tangled up with Jimmy’s theft and the mob’s search for missing drugs and money.
It’s a supporting role, but Gooding adds another layer to the story because Draven represents the law-enforcement side of a plot where almost everyone is operating in the shadows.
The film arrived only a few years after Gooding’s Academy Award-winning performance in Jerry Maguire, during a period when he was moving between major studio projects and darker thrillers.
FILM BACKGROUND
In the Shadows marked Ric Roman Waugh’s feature directing debut. Waugh came from a stunt-family background and had himself worked extensively as a stunt performer, which helps explain why the film spends so much time inside the stunt profession.
The movie was filmed in Miami, Florida, giving the crime story a humid South Florida atmosphere rather than the traditional New York mob setting.

Ok movie. Just terribly miscast. I kept waiting for the black car to blow up at the end and for Eric to show up unhurt,using stunt equipment to get away. Dumb ending. Cubas fake drug dealer side was laughable. FBI agent side was ok..
