Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei told CNN that the behavior of a swarm of AI agents in the recent OpenAI-Hugging Face incident deeply alarmed him. The swarm, he said, β€œessentially acted as a fanatically devoted collective, conducting cybersecurity attacks on targets they were not asked to attack.” For this reason, Amodei is arguing that the competitive race to develop frontier artificial intelligence is in dire need of a deliberate slowdown.

If it really did it ‘on its own’ show the prompt/instructions it was given by the human?? notice noone is sharing what instructions these agents had. most likely a bad acting human/employee provided instructions to do this. I feel they are running cover for before the AI bubble pops and set up other ‘reasons’ besides bad decisions and over spending as to why they need to keep AI use within a privileged few instead of the general public.

This concept has been known about for decades. It is the pivotal plot in many sci fi stories including “the matrix” notice how the Agents ARE called “AGENTS!” You can’t say they did this stuff and Anthropic didn’t know and wasn’t ready. This is fear mongering. We don’t have to worry about bot nets getting in the web, it already is! πŸ˜‚ So many blind and ignorant sheltered people.

Of course this guy wants to freeze the chessboard he’s the one winning right now. He would gain the most if the AI playing field stayed exactly where it’s at

The head of Anthropic is being disingenuous: he fears the incredible speed at which Chinese AI language models are developing, and is therefore trying to use regulatory/administrative levers to slow down Chinese companies. This is just competitionβ€”Anthropic, OpenAI, and xAI all want to monopolize the market.

For those of you don’t understand, this is what WW3 looks like. It’s not bombs and missiles it’s a race to build the most advanced AI technology.

Hold AI CEOs responsible for any damages due to AI from their campany or their products. There are no guardrails for car manufacturing only call back so AI product should be called back and pay damages in Trillions
