It’s funny how from one face Sam is amazing because “San Francisco’ but the second face says he is terrible. Not you Andrew, just media in general.
I’m sure Andrew and Scott have heard this point of view before RE: the TNF game in Seattle and the 2-point conversion. There was a lot of time left in that game and plays are called based on the game in its current state. The rest of the game wouldn’t have been called the same had the Seahawks not gotten lucky on the 2-pt conversion. We still don’t know that it wouldn’t have still landed in Seattle’s favor. The who playbook would’ve been shaped towards “Ok, we need more than the TD/2pt to get ahead” and plays would’ve been called accordingly. Clock would’ve been managed accordingly. It’s super speculative to assume that the game was decided at the 2 point conversion decision. That’s a really weak take. Also, to believe that the Rams were screwed out of a Superbowl run because of a fluke 2-point conversion is ridiculous. They still had another shot at the Seahawks in an environment they were up multiple scores. Didn’t win. Still.
The two point conversion argument is ridiculous. There were still six and a half minutes left on the clock in that game. But let’s say Seattle did lose that game. Couldn’t you say that the Rams were a perfect punt away from losing a game where Sam Darnold threw four interceptions in week 11? If that punt was a touchback and Seattle gets that field goal, that two point conversion doesn’t matter. And then they lost to the Falcons after that second Seahawks game. Boiling it down to the two point conversion is nonsense.
