Hi, I am Doctor Who and the Midjourney!

For three years, I’ve been using AI to bring the extended Whoniverse to life, and other fun projects – such as this!

For a little R&D I thought I’d challenge myself to create a complete Special Edition of the 1975 Classic Doctor Who Story ‘Terror of the Zygons’. As classic as a classic Doctor Who story could ever be.

This video shows side by side the changes I’ve made. Is it perfect? No! This was a speed run as a personal challenge – about 3-4 days work. Loads of bits I’d do better with time and budget.

The animation was created using Midjourney, ComfyUI with custom LoRAs, Kling, and bytedance/seedream-4. It was composited and edited in After Effects. If you’d like to learn more or if you’ve just enjoyed what you’ve seen, please consider following and supporting me on Patreon.

Image generation, animation, and lip-sync models incur costs to run, and my paid subscribers make a real contribution to covering these. They also enable me to experiment, innovate, and push the technology further. Subscribers receive exclusive content, behind-the-scenes development updates, and insights into how each piece was created.

Please stay to the end for previews of upcoming projects!

Thanks for watching,
Stay tuned!

Some of the landscape footage doesn’t match the original intent at all, otherwise the spaceship and oil rig is a massive improvement.

The submerged beastie needs at least some murk in the water, its brilliantly rendered but think “JAWS” its not what you see its what you don’t see that makes something scary.

This is great, but to me demonstrates that actually, making the Loch Ness Monster acceptable in this story might be impossible, without totally re-imagining the scenes.

This is very good. What makes it good and fitting to the classic show is, you have still kept the ship and the creature the same as the originals. So many Ai versions change everything which then doesn’t fit the classic show. Well done.

Pretty good, as the tech gets better so will the upgrades. Personally I like the upgrades, the stories are so good they deserve the updated effects.

I just finished watching the Blu-Ray edition of this story, and your version improves the special effects in every way. Magnificent work.
