The craziest part to me is that when you watch the updated versions with “modernized” special effects, it just looks like an extremely low budget early-2000s show at best instead of looking like a 70s/80s non-hollywood show of contemporarily decent quality lmao…

I mean you have to remember all tv’s back then had crap picture quality by today’s standards (240p like). The effects wouldn’t look as bad as they do on YouTube in the 2020s.
No, 240p was VHS. On a pal tv, it was more 350 or 400p.

This is why Dr who needs a special edition.
A lot of them have updated effects on the DVDs and Blu Ray Sets
They give the show an air of Charm I think, though they do look pretty bad, Especially if you watch Trial Of A Time Lord part 4

Bro at least Classic Who has a budget as an excuse and good writing to make up for visuals. I’ll take MS Paint over disgusting storylines that are poorly thought out like in Interstellar Song Contest.
