There is nothing special to me, about watching Bryan throw some spray off a six-foot face. It is as common as rain at this point. Watching Slater get 9’s was fun, but other than that the 2’s were more unique and entertaining to me as a competition, than 6’s and 7’s which I have seen thousands of. Watching them try to get a three to win and fail, actually had me captivated.

The number of competitive female surfers that come out of Tahiti relative to the population, shows that there are millions of females in Florida, California, and Europe who could surf better than Gilmore, but just never tried. Maybe wave pools will pull some girls like Shannon Miller from gymnastics and cheerleading in the Midwest.
