Wimbledon in Australia in the 89’s had the Fred Stolle soundtrack to them and he was as good as commentating as he was a player. He will be missed. Condoles to Fred’s family and friends.
I will always remember him with Cliff Drysdale and Mary Carillo commentating for ESPN. My favorite comment from him was “Ivan is madder than a cut snake”. He often used that same saying for multiple players upset with an umpire.
My childhood was him and Cliff in the both. They were my Madden and Summerall. Rest in Peace O.G.
