I need an official recording for this
In Spain we call it MariCats.
I just got super emotional lol
Only For The Limited Audience.
I wonder if they just stayed up all night for this appearance
I read that CATS is closing August 8 😥
Listen, as a girlie who’s never liked Cats, mostly because I find the plot weak. I can really appreciate the artistry, creativity, and originality of this revival. Even if I still personally don’t care for the music or plot, I can appreciate that this is the definition of a good revival. It uses the material to tell a story that the creatives want to tell now. In my opinion every revival of any show has the responsibility of answering the question, why now?
Why revive the show now, what’s new, what’s it saying, and is there a new perspective on the material that the creative team wants to share?
Wether you enjoy Cats or not, you have to acknowledge that Cats: The Jellicle Ball absolutely answers that question better then MOST revivals nowadays that feel like cash grabs rather than new creative productions.
So while this may not be my cup of tea, I am so glad that it exists and that these artists are ABSOLUTELY eating it up on that stage 8 times a week!!
