Arriving in a petrified forest, the Doctor and his companions find traces of a recent visitation. Upon investigation the crew encounter the peaceful Thals and hear about their war with terrible machine creatures called Daleks who live in a nearby city.

You forgot the very very first doctor who episodes
They can’t show the first ones unfortunately, there are rights issues with the writer’s son who withheld them since 2023 because he hates the new show and the BBC for apparently not crediting his father enough
If the Doctor gets too much radiation he just regenerates. Remember Planet of the Spiders?
The concept of regeneration wouldn’t be a thing until Wililam Hartnell’s final story as the doctor in The Tenth Planet in 1966.

BBC doesn’t own the copyright, instead it’s the son of the original scriptwriter, Stef Coburn who’s refused to give the rights to the BBC
I wonder why when they wrote the original dr that he wasn’t very likeable. He’s the lead and I wonder back then when it first aired if the companions were the favorites. 2nd dr on very different. He also seems to be the smartest of the original 7.
